Happy Christmas

The season of cheer and good will to all is now upon us. And if you’ve had the misfortune to have been out shopping you’ll know only too well how much it’s upon us.

Still at least Reaper miniatures haven’t forgotten and have released some special Christmas themed miniatures for the festive period.

Now I know I’d said I wasn’t going to be doing another order this year, but as with all the best laid plans, it wasn’t to be. Therefore the really last Reaper order will be placed on Monday 22nd December at 10.00am. This will also be the time the listings for the Christmas miniatures disappear from the shop.

So here they are :

And the more usual Reaper Releases :

The latest issue is now out and ready to download. 120 pages in this special Christmas issue.

Now the chap below is titled Gurka le Rouge and is available from LeBen Studios. The one below was painted by the FPM editor himself, and it’s earned him a rather excellent 9.4 over on CMoN. Click on the link and have a look at the larger images. ( not bad for a beginner lol )

Finally my customary thank you to everyone who buys from the store, reads my musings and even on occasion sells me old miniatures. It is all very much appreciated and I’d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2015.

Reaper update & Industry News

Well the month has turned to December, so it’s now Christmas if you believe the advertising.

This of course means you’ll have much more in mind than just miniatures, which is probably why I’ve only got a Reaper update for you. However I have been hunting around and dug up a few news stories and rumours you might find interesting.

First off, the new stuff from Reaper.

News

On the 2nd December 2014 Kevin Rountree, Executive Director, at Games Workshop has re-invested 369 shares in the company at a price of 545.00p. The Director now holds 15,552 shares.

When a director starts buying shares in the company he works for you do have to ask yourself why. What does he know that makes him think the price will rise and his investment will be rewarded?

Could it be the imminent arrival of Smaug? An expected boost from the last of the Hobbit Trilogy, or have they got something else in the pipeline for the new year?

Speaking of ole Smaug, the GW version has leaked out onto the internet, and appears to be of an impressive size.

Smaug

However knowing GW you’ll also need a small fortune in gold to buy one. Its resin too, not finecast thankfully. However it got me thinking about alternatives, and I found this.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies™ Smaug™ Large Scale Poseable Action Figure

Just click on the link to go to the listing. It’s a big guy too, limited to 3000 copies and currently for sale in the US for a tad under $ 70.00. You can also pose it too as it’s articulated in 10 places apparently.

Finally a teaser, which company’s like total isn’t all it appears ?

FigurePainter Magazine still available to download.
