The best laid plans…

So if you haven’t been keeping up with events, you may well be thinking, ‘this new shop looks a lot like the old one’. Well you’d be sort of right, as it is actually the old faithful once more sailing it’s way through the cyberverse.

The reason is very simple. The new shop looked pretty good from the outside, but for me in the admin area it just didn’t do what I needed it too. Adding extensions to the main program proved more of a pain than a pleasure. Getting them to work even more so. Therefore having reached a stage where it was making my life harder and not easier, I decided to call it quits and come back to the old one.

It might not be as pretty, or indeed user friendly at the front, but it’s a little gem at the back, especially when it comes to stock control.

And speaking of stock, Reaper have just released another batch of their Bones II miniatures. I currently have 1 each of just about all of these in the shop at the moment. So if you need, Skeleton’s, Aliens, Scenery and even a Flying Saucer, you know where to come.

Bones II

*The skeletons all come in packs of 3 miniatures.

Miniature-Heroes is Moving Shop

index

Yes after 4 and a bit years with the current shop I’ve decided that it’s time to upgrade.

This should take place on Friday 14th August if everything goes to plan. Please be patient while the shops get moved about. It should all go smoothly enough but as with all these things you can never be completely sure.

So why the move? Well the old shop was looking dated, and there wasn’t much I could do about it. Security is always of paramount importance and I was worried that with older software the hackers might someday make they’re way through.

But mainly it is to provide a better shopping experience. Customer numbers continue to grow, and so do the expectations of what an online shopping experience should be. Hopefully this will take MH to another level of service whilst keeping the main features from the old shop intact.

Most things have migrated over quite well. The new site has a cleaner, fresher look and should respond positively whether you’re browsing via PC, Tablet or Phone.

One thing I can’t migrate is the customer database, it’s securely held. So when the new site is up an running you will need to re-register your details.

Lastly, if you have any comments or queries, please email and I’ll do my best to deal with them.
